Where we started

InterviewThread began after watching new graduates and friends reach for generic AI because they needed fast help with resumes and interviews. The drafts sounded polished, but they often did not sound like the person—or stay close enough to what that person had actually done.

At the same time, job descriptions felt overwhelming. People could not tell which requirements mattered, how their experience mapped to the role, or what a recruiter would challenge. Even after earning an interview, many had nowhere safe to practice, especially people interviewing in a second language.

A different starting point

We start with evidence. The product separates supported strengths from real gaps, helps candidates shape stories they can defend, and asks the follow-up questions that different interviewers are likely to ask. It is designed to make a candidate clearer and more confident without inventing achievements.

What we believe

• Truth before polish: every important claim should trace back to candidate-provided evidence.
• Clarity before automation: users should understand why a match, gap, or recommendation appears.
• Practice builds confidence: realistic follow-ups matter more than memorizing a perfect script.
• Access matters: the core product is free and open source so the community can inspect and improve it.
